This week, I had the pleasure of delivering a practical exposure workshop at the Knowledge and Learning Forum at JDC, where I shared the latest developments in artificial intelligence, focusing on knowledge development and learning. The workshop included exposure to global research and practical tools (some more well-known than others 😉) in research, text, and visual domains.

💡 I opened the workshop with Joanna Machievska's precise tweet: "I want AI to do my laundry and dishes so that I can do art and writing, not for AI to do my art and writing so that I can do my laundry and dishes"

Which speaks to and raises concerns for anyone involved in learning, content creation, and creativity. I then quoted the wonderful Hadas Almog, who beautifully defined the adoption stages of artificial intelligence:

  1. Excessive enthusiasm

  2. Magnificent overwhelm

  3. Paralyzing fear

  4. Friend, you're lying

  5. AI, Lets be friends

While trying to figure out where each of us stands on this five-stage scale.

During the workshop, participants experimented with various tools as we tried to think together about how to properly integrate them into our ongoing work to improve learning and knowledge processes. Among the tools we experimented with were Consensus in research, various known chatbots (ChatGPT, Perplexity AI) for creating training and learning content, and new Google tools less familiar to the general public. As well as Adobe tools for high-level visual creation, and more.
